Thread regarding AIG (American Intl Group Inc.) layoffs

I got a 2% raise and 2X more work

Right after I got the raise, but literally right away, they added more work to my plate. Is the price of a miserable 2% raise being overworked even more? At this point I think I would be more willing to stay here if I didn't get any raise at all and no extra work either. Can't wait to give notice and get out of here.

Peter worries about each and every one of you. Sure, he could give you a 10% cost of living raise to keep up with inflation, but that is too easy. You see folks, you can't buy wellness. Peter gave you wellness today and for that you should be grateful. A raise would do nothing but pay the bills and allow you to feed your family, but a whole day to think about how you can't make enough money at AIG is much more valuable.

Plus, giving decent raises will increase overhead and lower the stock price, can't have that. Enjoy!

Calm down and use your "wellness" day today. Giving employees a wellness day makes everything okay. Just sit and meditate today and when you go back to work on monday you will feel all better. lol

My boss is shying away from talking about raises.. i literally cannot afford my life and I’m not even over extending my
Lifestyle.. i have a normal basic house, normal bills.. nothing extravagant at all and I’m struggling!! I work a middle class job at a Fortune 500 company and I’m struggling?? this doesn’t make sense to me!! They need to have a salary correction for 2022. Not 2%.. there’s needs to be a 20-25% salary correction overall. Salaries are not keeping up at all with the cost of life. It’s just unfair at this point

You can only do what you can do. It always amuses me to see people post this 'doing the work of four people' stuff. Work your day, and go home. I'm not doing the work of a whole other person. It isn't sustainable. Period. If things get backed up, then guess what... they need to hire people back.
