Thread regarding Nike Inc. layoffs

Nike thinks we get paid enough

A colleague asked the manager for a raise and the response was that he is already paid enough. Of course, after that he went to another company and got a big raise.
Those who still can’t get out of here, they just make sure to look busy while they do almost nothing. What’s the biggest raise you’ve heard someone get after leaving here?

I would not stay even if I get offered an increase of whatever %. What’s the point of more $ if one still hates working here?

I got a 25% raise for staying. With everyone leaving, makes for lots of opportunity.

Leaving next week with a 50% salary increase, higher bonus %, plus RSUs which I was not eligible for at Nike. Fully remote, too.

I got a 25% salary increase with a substantial stock and cash signing bonus (non-tech).

Difficult to say because salaries are so highly dependent on your own skill set and your ability to market yourself. That said employers are hurting for qualified people right now and will pay top dollar to get warm bodies in seats. Even if you’re “only” a L-band employee like I was you might be surprised at what companies are paying these days. Regardless of whether or not you’re seriously looking to leave Nike you should be scanning the job market and even interviewing at least a couple times per year. If you’re lucky you’ll experience what I did: I wasn’t necessarily looking to leave Nike so after interviewing at a different company I presented them with what even I thought was a ridiculous salary requirement. They quickly accepted it and asked when I could start. I was shocked. I did accept the job because it was a 50% pay bump over my $70K Nike salary. I wasn’t unhappy at Nike but I also wasn’t going to turn down a pay increase that would have taken me several years to achieve if I had stayed at Nike. No regrets.
