WarnerMedia staffers fear 'bloodbath' of layoffs ahead of Discovery merger after firing of 9 execs

Looks like the AT&T mentality is still there.

'Paranoid' WarnerMedia staffers are preparing for another round of layoffs ahead of the completion of its merger with media conglomerate Discovery, sources have revealed, after a firing spree this week saw nine top execs nixed from the company.

If you combine 2 companies, there will be redundancies. Of course jobs will be cut.

"The nine departures included CEO Jason Kilar; Warner Bros chief Ann Sarnoff; and HBO Max general manager Andy Forssell.

Other staffers set to leave the company Friday include WarnerMedia CRO Tony Goncalves, CTO Richard Tom, CFO Jennifer Biry, Executive Vice President Jim Cummings, CIO Christy Haubegger and WarnerMedia general counsel Jim Meza.

All were top members of Kilar's management team." - Good cuts. Biry was worthless and serves her right for moving to Warner before Stankey undercut Kilar and worked a backroom deal with Zaslav

Don't feel sorry for any executive that gets fired. They didn't stand up for their workers while at T so turnabout is more than welcomed.

Another company ruined because ATT touched it. The good news- we are in such bad shape we can’t afford to buy another company right now.
Expect a few rounds of headcount rationalization in the next 24 months at ATT.
