Constant stress

I'm so exhausted. But it seems that rarely anyone here is not physically and mentally exhausted?

It’s hard to avoid burnout when I constantly have more and more to do. Of course, the company doesn't worry much about that, because they don't seem to care that people are leaving under so much pressure.

I wish I could retire. Unfortunately our company doesn’t retire their folks once they hit 20 years of loyal service! They’d rather force you out. I here so many say they have left and how good they felt. They didn’t realize they had been that stressed, unhappy, tense and demoralized. Even if you get a good manager who tries to advocate for her staff, doesn’t clog their email boxes with reports on what you haven’t done, how much more you need to do or watching every click you make in your system - eventually that manager gets sucked in and has to put everyone on caps. I have never seen a company care so much about their service work in the community and treat their employees as less than deserving of that 1% raise they gave you. It wasn’t always like this…

That is why the bullying and pressure are present. They are trying to force you to leave so they can hire lower waged personnel. They only care about profits and their massive bonuses and special benefits for management.

Misery is optional. Plenty of better places to work. You have to make the change since UHG is not going to change.

I worked here for 18 years. Exceeded expectations on all reviews, was main trainer for the dept for many years, etc. New manager took over, and our dept of 13 nurses had 15 nurses leave within 15 months. No one cared...revolving door. I was being pushed out and could not take the stress, and effects on my health. I retired and it was the best decision of my life.
