Lots of retirements (no surprise there) and also several EMIT interns (surprised that IT students are considering us)..

Was an intern many years ago...was so proud to be hired on full time. Never thought I would resign after the complete breakdown in leadership....some in IT, some in the MC. Got paid well, worked hard, hoped to retire here, sad it didnt happen and even more sad for those "stuck" in the middle of EMIT.....hoping to make it 8-12+ more years with a brutal ranking system and MSP strategy. Best of luck to those and for those with less than 5 years to retirement, dont make decisions on short term guidance given by the GSC LT....youre better than that.
More announced today. Crazy.
I am visiting this site for the first time, as even during my intern interviews in EM IT, there was mention of 'The Layoff'.
And here is the first post I see, talking about me. Funny.
I turned it down. I will be interning at another company in Denver this summer.
That company also has a Layoff presence, but pretty small.
It's funny though.
I knew of a few great EMIT interns over the last few years, many took full time offers at EM. None remain today.
@1uce+1gFwuHNs There were already too many to begin with… smh this company is going down the tubes
@ unu+1gFwuHNs is absolutely right. Any credible intern will take this chance to polish the resume and pivot into another industry quickly. This generation won’t take the same beatings most of us did. Good luck EM Mgmt! Your 40k headcount target will be achieved faster than you projected!
IT interns - from a wide variety of schools. Ha.
Interns are cheaper than even the offshore centers. Effectively indentured servants that turn over every 3-6 months - which is about the current EMIT attrition rate anyway.
Interns don't care much since they find any opportunity to work with a known company for a limited period of time and getting paid for it a good use of their time and build their resume. The good measure would be how many intern converts we get without HR fidgeting with numbers and reporting will full transparency (wishful thinking).
