Thread regarding Honeywell International Inc. layoffs

More stressful and more stagnant than ever?

Looking back on the last few years here, I think I made a big mistake of not leaving earlier. In fact, it used to be different here, but now there is very little room to move up, and the stress is astronomical. The only thing I'm happy with is that I've learned a lot, which has now helped me find a better job.

"Unified Career Path"? - that's a JOKE, a fiction which exists on electronic paper but not in Honeywell reality.

You definitely missed the boat. Leave now and you will be overpaid and low man in seniority when recession hits in full force. $80/tank, 600k for a house @ 7% interest..

There is a HUGE wall between band 3 and band 4 at Honeywell. Unless you're part of the good ol' boy network, a golden child, or a "diversity" hire, you're not going any further than senior advanced engineer. My manager told me as much without actually telling me that in my last review. I left for double the pay and a non-toxic environment. Now, I'm a principal engineer. Just like I should have been per the Honeywell unified career path based on two decades of experience and the responsibilities I had a a senior advanced engineer. It was the best decision I ever made for my career and overall well-being.

Are you a troll from a certain geo area trying to create the illusion that we need to import more H1B?
That’s transparent …

How could there be little room to move up with so much talent leaving?
Honestly I am just riding out my retention bonus for another year and then moving on to the side hustle. I make more per hour as my neighborhood handyman than I do at Honeywell as an engineer.
