I believe a lot of people are still here just because they are no longer marketable. Some of my colleagues openly admit that they have big problems finding a new job because their skills have atrophied.

Some people.claimed they had skills they really did not and thought they would wing it when they got the job. As Optum is not that great at adopting new tech promptly, the industry has unfortunately left many without self motivation to learn on their own in an unfortunate position as it is becoming a competitive market again.
Rally Health/Optum is far along in the process of being acquired by Red Ventures, a shady, unethical, cult like performance marketing company out of South Carolina. Rally Health/Optum employees are all about to go through some things. Red Ventures completely guts and destroys every company they acquire. When RV starts to integrate with Rally Health they will talk about being a mission driven company (writing in pencil, running up escalators, blah, blah, blah), and sharing the same values as Rally Health, but don't be fooled. RV doesn't care about your business, its employees or its customers. They care about one thing, and one thing only - exploitive and ruthless monetization.
It's too late to stop this train, it's pretty much a done deal, but you should dust off your resumes and let your colleagues know to do the same.
Even if you don't get laid off, you will wish you did under RV's management.
Look busy, have lots of slides of nothing, and act like you're serious. That's the American way. BS artists all.
Anyone in a level 28 and higher... stay here because they know they are NOT marketable anywhere else.... what a waste!!!
Just do the minimum, make them pay for Power Bi training, Project Management Training, etc.... OR play twitch during meetings as a side hustle..... Opps.... Maybe I wasn't supposed to say that!!!

I don’t think it’s only skill atrophy. I believe it’s also age related and some are just biding their time until Optum forces them into retirement by giving them a bad review and then firing them later In the year to avoid paying severance. This is reason that the management is retiring before or around review time. So they get to keep their perks.
