Thread regarding Wells Fargo & Co. layoffs

Info on how they are tracking RTO

Our entire larger “team” (70+ people) were told in a call by a director-level leader (one level down from the EVP, two levels down from Charlie, who is also our “site-leader” for RTO) that they are looking at badge swipes and LAN. My understanding is, as of this time, it’s mostly just a binary thing: did you badge in that day? Did you connect to Wells Fargo LAN? Check both boxes and you’re good. Any company property that you have badge access to and has the LAN network counts, even if it’s not the office/floor you’re specifically assigned to. So, for instance, if you work at a building that has one of those “Hub” spaces with like a cafe that you have to badge into, you can work there all day and it’ll pass the report. PTO days count as in-office. Have to leave a little early sometimes and finish the day at home? Not the end of the world. If life happens and you can’t make it in all 3 days every now and then, as long as it’s not a constant occurrence and you let your manager know why so they can vouch for you later, there’s some flexibility there too. At this moment in time, they’re mainly worried about the people that haven’t been coming in at all.

I'm reposting this from @1vtd+1gGTAGTx to make sure more people see it.

Still don’t understand why they are so he-l bent on us coming in. I come in and yet still having calls as I would at home as none of my teams are in my office location so it’s frustrating to take that hour spent to get in and and leave.

That is for people on Agile/Scrum teams. Not everyone in tech is part of an Agile team.

In Corporate Risk the 2 or 3 downs from Derek Flowers get a badge in, LAN connection and badge out (for locations that you have to do this) report. The badge out is to let them know who came in, logged in for a brief period then went back home. Not sure the consequence or if it is just information for now. But, seems like every team meeting I'm in we are reminded of this.

I just accepted a position outside of WF (at a large FAANG), more than doubled my total compensation, and it's full time remote!

I've been looking since November and had several interviews get to the final round that didn't work out, but the perfect one finally came.

For those looking, keep at it even when you have rejections. The right one will come!

For technology under Saul, non-managers only have to be in the office for certain meetings unless otherwise directed by their management team. We show up, take our meetings, and go home. For the few hours I have to be there, I’m constantly interrupted by the site cheerleaders trying to entice me to some social event. Why are we wasting time and money on this cr-p? How many hours a day are we paying people to socialize? It’s ridiculous and I’m already working an average of 12 hours a day - I am not going to put in even more hours so I can spend time having donuts, ice cream, or whatever the bribe of the day happens to be with a bunch of people I don’t even know. None of the 6 people on my team are at the same location, or even in the same city - RTO is completely pointless and I will never do more than check the box; I happily and productively worked from home full time for over 12 years, all the while getting excellent performance reviews before this nonsense. I can’t wait to watch this blow up in their faces and for the company to be left with only those so close to retirement that they won’t leave, or the ones that are such cr-p employees they can’t go anywhere else. And yes, I have started looking.

I do my 3 days. Many dont show at all and too many come in for a few hours then leave. Frustrating to those that meet job expectations.

I heard from our director (under Saul) that they are looking at number of logins and time you are on-site (6 hours+).

uh, the initial badge in and LAN logon are all they track... Come to the office, badge in, log onto LAN.. Stay for a couple of hours.. then leave.

Depends on your group. If their head is lodged up Charlie then there is no give at all. Most managers hate this as much as anyone but they are too afraid.

My manager hasn't said boo to me about any of this. I don't think this applies to every group/team.

Lots of money being wasted on BS - as usual.
