Because they're doing too good of a job of chasing people away. If you can make enough people leave on their own you don't have to bother with layoffs and severance packages that go with it. They save money and avoid bad publicity. People wonder why nobody is doing anything to slow down the attrition when they're cheering it on.

Exactly right .. in the wake of monthly layoffs since January 2019, they took a respite from executing layoffs, but, instead, began forcing people out. Fewer unemployment taxes and impact to reputation if people don't think they're laying off actively. I understand, though the monthly layoffs have resumed.

It's more like UHG will not be able to capitalize on buying Change Health and companies are finding better healthcare elsewhere. Seriously, why do we have offshore running a healthcare system they know NOTHING about!!! What a Sh!t Sh0w
