Anyone hear anything about the Glendale site? People are leaving left and right (retiring, quitting, let go) but few are being hired to replace them. There was a rumor that the site was to be relocated to Puerto Rico but I haven't heard anymore about it.

We tried to relocate all the business there back 5 years ago but govt. would not approve
@1zgi This is what happens when a product is turned over to ISC with no engineering oversight.
Yeah but ISC saved 50 bucks on labor. Worldview satellite loss cost the insurance company 165 million.
Nice job Honeywell
When I left in 2019. The on-orbit failures of CMGs was due to ceramic chip capacitors cracking leading to shorting because in production they no longer pre-heat the PWBs before soldering /installing the chip caps . If they did not have the 2016 layoffs may be the seasoned engineers in production and quality would be there to prevent the process change.
They have people doing work --- worst case analyses, thermal analyses, PMP in PR working on Orion. And now reliability on RWAs, and ICMGs in PR.
I was kicked out in 2019 after 38 yrs because management did not like what I said in meetings caused the captive crowd to stir. We had 4 in our reliability group. Like I said I got terminated, then a few weeks later my long time buddy there for 30yrs quit, then our 4 yr newbie got fired because the new manager (who we just changed to PR control) was changing his goals and he refused to accept them. So the lone guy there was forced to outsource work to PR.
Wow. Harsh perspective.
that place is invested with rats. People are leaving fearing the plague.
Just shut it down. They lose $$$ every year
Why do they have that site? Its relatively small move it to 19th or 34st.
That place should have been closed years ago. that building is falling apart and should be a superfund site. How many people died of cancer who worked there?
Alt would love to send glendale to PR.
They have a bad reputation now after on orbit failures.
