Thread regarding Wells Fargo & Co. layoffs

Retirement

I am honestly thinking about retiring. I don't have the age but years of service because I'm under Wachovia Legacy. Will I keep my benefits? Like health insurance?

2nd the point on looking on Teamworks. i have debated it as well, and what would it take. The policy is BS to me. I only have 5 years in so assumed I would need to put in more years, fine. But it requires a min of age 55. I am 46, not working another 9 years if I don’t have to for what the earlier posters mention is expensive AF healthcare…like 1k pp I think. Family of 3 is nearly 3k. What benefit exactly?

That said, to the poster from Wachovia days, IIRC, the requirements are lesser for them, so definitely take a look and capitalize if/when you can.

WF Retiree health care is more expensive than anything on Obamacare at least in NC. COBRA is about half as much but is only for 18 months. There are no other WF benefits to retiring except freedom.

Not the OP, but in the same situation. Only reason I'm coming in is because my commute is short, parking isn't an issue, the job is easy, the pay is great and my manager only comes around maybe three times a year (Seriously. How he hasn't been fired is beyond me). It's like they have forgotten about me. I would be crazy to leave a job like this. I've got nothing else to do, and I'd take a package if they offered, but that's not going to happen.

Always retire if you can. It's not even a question. And enjoy!

Look in Teamworks; there is an entire article page devoted to "leaving wells fargo" and it discusses health care in retirement if you are too young for medicare. It's very expensive, I thought but if you've been here long enough there are some supplements that you might be eligible for.
