Thread regarding Citigroup Inc. / Citibank / Citi layoffs

Shorter deadlines

Employees here are used to working under stress. Ever since I’ve been working here this has been a stressful environment, but I’ve accepted that as the nature of my job.

Have you noticed that deadlines are getting shorter and shorter though?

It is expected that the job is finished in unrealistically short time and, worst of all, the superiors are not interested at all in what the employees have to say about it.

The main problem is the glamorization of overworking until you have no life other than Citi. If you can conform to that way of life, then you’ll do just fine.

Set yourself an aggressive deadline to find a job elsewhere. Update that resume, dedicate at least 1 hour per day trolling for jobs, submit. Don’t wait for an answer, keep submitting and interviewing. Take the first offer that’s at least 20% more pay which won’t be hard as most posts seem to be offering more than what Citi is willing to offer.
