Backfilling positions

Have any positions been backfilled this year? We've been waiting for months for replacements for several people who left and all we're getting from management is "soon." I'm not sure we can wait much longer, our team has halved in the last six months and we still have the same amount of work to do.

My team has backfilled a couple positions, but we haven't lost nearly as many as some others

When they ask when your work will be done make sure to respond "soon."

"soon" is like tomorrow.

And tomorrow never comes.

That extra work is all yours now.

Good luck.

Your reward is possibly being allowed to keep your job

Everyone is stopping at 8 hours. No one is working more. We got no reward for that come review time.

We were told no backfill at all. And we lost 8 people on a team of 17. Shuffling projects around is the norm now. If we try to pick up all that work, it will never get done with that number of people so there's no sense ki----g yourself over it. I've pretty much gone union on them. I do my 40 hrs, hit the clock and stop.

Yes they have been saying soon. Last week it's like the Finxact acquisition is through and the position will be approved. Not done as of today

"soon" - this is why I left Fiserv. When will I get that promotion - soon. When will we add more people to the team - soon. They can never give a date and when soon becomes years it isn't acceptable.

I would bet if it is a highly performing product being actively marketed you have a much better chance of getting a backfill. If you are on a legacy product that still makes good money but isn't being actively sold. You are probably out of luck.
