I don’t want to do it, it's a matter of principle. It's not their fault, new, young people are not to blame for anything, but why would I allow the company to humiliate me by training a newbie who will then be paid more than me, even though I've been here for 5 years, and after that they will probably get rid of me. It’s awful what Sam’s doing and how horribly it treats long-term employees.

If you think about it with all the turnover anymore, 5 years is long term. Not taking away from the actual long-term associates, 20+ years. But no one really sticks around anymore. That is because they are not trained properly anymore. They send them to do the CBL's and then maybe a bit of time with the Lead and then fed to the wolves. They don't even really show them how to use the SM1 right. It's embarrassing
That's right 5 years is NOT a long term employee give me a break. How does 24 years sound , now that's long term!! I use to have to train in the Bakery all the time Hated it they never wanted to really work & I felt like I had to watch every move they made , keep repeating myself all day long. I was the baker , trainer, wrapper trying to get everything done before your shift was up was stressful & babysitting on top of that didn't help matters.
I say, “go ask your team lead, that’s what they get paid the big bucks for.” Leave me alone. I don’t get paid to train you. Sorry. Not sorry.
iPad and CBL’s are the new company training guide, not other employees, tell the new employees that and any other questions are to be directed to the team leader, period.
Well said.
I hate training people! My favorite is when I have to train my lead.
Train them incorrectly. Tell them you get a 2 hour lunch. Tell them it is required to flip carts upside down when putting them away. Tell them to clean the toilet with a toothbrush and put them back for sale when done. Etc...
Then you will have your revenge
HAHAHAHAHA... 5 years is not a long term associate !! how do you think 20 and 30 year people feel.. at 5 years you are making close if not more than me after 20 years.. it is the team leads and managers who are supposed to train people not me.. sams is the only place i know of that equals are supposed to train each other.. there are no military or sports teams where this happens.. i cant get my job done if i am dragging newbie with me..
