Thread regarding Honeywell International Inc. layoffs

When will the next layoff be?

What do you think? Nobody is laying off any more. The worker is in short supply.
Maybe the concept of layoffs is behind us.

Is revenue increasing enough to support continuing 10% improvements in profit margin? Has 50% reduction in number of sites been completed? Has all non-export controlled work been off shored including design? In the end it's all about beating Wall Street's expectations of margins and cash flow.

Layoffs not behind us, just taking a break. HON will always cut where they can to save money, but it is often just a shuffle (such as outsourcing something and increasing program managers to monitor the outsource). The difficulty that HON faces now is that years of constant cutting to maintain the ALT bonus levels and treating employees like serfs is coming to bite them. Why would you have a quota for ranking a percentage of employees as under performing when you say we only hire the best? Same reason that Putin is leveling cities - because they see fear as a tool.

People do not want to stay for 2% raises, 9 block games, and an occasional cookie (but only if we hit 80% on the feedback survey). Money talks. They can't hire and train the new grads fast enough to keep up with the attrition. The global workers are running for the exits faster than in the US.
