If someone takes the monthly payment retirement pension option, is it indexed in any way to inflation?

I retired a year ago after almost 23 years.
My pension increased by about $3.00 in March. Minimal!
I took my pension in a lump sum and invested it. Cut all ties with the Honeywell world.
I retired in March over six years ago. Every April there is around $10 extra on my check. It is not taxes and it happens every year in April. Not enough to matter but it does happen.
Government pensions like the military and police are frequently inflation adjusted. This is possible because they can print money and tax at will. My 23yr military service retiring from USMC as an O-6 works this way. By the way I have calculated my hourly wage as equivalent to $350/hr for my time in logistics. Pension is not enough to live rich on but it gives security.
Consider taking the lump sum if you can wing it and put it in a IRA. No telling what inflation will be over the years. Does anyone have an inflation adjusted pension?
Take the lump sum if you can. You can grow it faster and chances ate you will not live long enough to have the annual payments pay out more.
I retired three years ago after 38 years and I'm currently receiving pension payments.
There are dozens of pension plans administrated by Honeywell depending on the company you began employment with. Each plan is different and you need to look at the benefits on the HR website on what's offered for your situation.
My pension plan originated with the Signal Companies (previously Garrett Turbine Engine Co.). My plan payments do not go up for inflation and it did not have an option for a lump sum payout. Your case may or may not be different.
Take the lump sum
No the pension payout is a straight payment that takes on the average 18+ years of monthly payments to equal the lump sum at the start of the pension. i.e. it will take that long without any interest to make back your lump sum in monthly payments
No. And .. honeywell has a history of cancelling promised benifits for retirees example... medical coverage. Do not trust honeywell with your life.
Good one! NO!
You think HW would offer people who dedicated their loves any kind of financial security?
