Thread regarding T-Mobile layoffs

An update

I am a manager in the NE and have been with T-Mobile for over 19 years. Still have my job so far but I am looking for other opportunities in my late 50’s…

People got laid off yesterday as well at least 25 that I know of, some legacy sprint and some legacy T-Mobile.

By the way, the layoffs are not related to what legacy company you were with or your performance, 3 out of the 25 people I know have outstanding performance.

I’m starting to think that they look at how much you make and base their decision on that.

Sadly, T-Mobile is not the company it used to be, they say we are OPEX challenged…

Quick advice from an old man, do not work more than what you are paid for, because that will be forgotten, and no one is going to consider it when this kind of layoffs hit.

Peace...

Current employee not gone yet ….

How do you all think we can continue as a company paying out contracts, devices, free services with credits…. It’s just not sustainable and celebrating fake new subscribers that came from… Sprint? Lol

What does millennials have to do with any of this? Also you realize millennials are already in their 40s?

My advice would be to let them lay you off. Collect the severance and then figure out what’s next. If you leave before then you’ll miss out on a significant amount of money in stocks, severance and bonus.

I want to type something so quippy and intelligent but I just can’t anymore. It’s not worth it. For the millennial who will try to defend, don’t waste your time. Go back to kissing a-s until you have been around the block and see how you wasted your life when you are 40. You are not immune to being Freiered.

It's purely financial. Things that were being managed out of Bellevue are now being moved to managers in Kansas City where the costs the costs are much less. I know of at least 4 people over 50 who were given their pink slips this week. People who are older and who command more money.
