Thread regarding Chevron Corp. layoffs

MENTAL HEALTH WEEK OFF

Hearing that some companies are giving employees extra time off, some calling it a mental health week? Will CHEVRON consider offering this? People are burned out.

@1usl MW loves giving people time off and is very supportive of it.... it just happens to be permanent time off with no pay.

If it were up to DJT we would no longer get vacation or sick days. Thats the way it should be People! People need to get to work and become productive freedom loving Americans! Working non stop and not thinking about you or your families needs is what we should strive for!

FI_Ick no. If Mike gave you a week off, who would be around to do the work for him after he desimated the rank and file.

Chevron says: "Qualifying Disabilities: You have a qualifying disability for purposes of the Short-Term Disability Plan if you have a medically determinable physical or mental condition that can be diagnosed by a licensed physician or doctor that causes you to be absent from work. "

As long as your mental health days do not exceed five consecutive work days in a row, you don't require a note from a doctor. And you do not need to tell your supervisor anything more than a simple email with "I am not feeling well and will be out today."

Yeah you git on back to work and don't do nun of that mental health. The only mental health you need is working non stop. How is MW going to get another Yacht otherwise!

You already have official permission to use sick days for mental health. Read your benefits docs!

@1qhn- Maybe YOU used WFH as a paid vacation, but the rest of us...y'know...worked during that time. Nice of you to get yours and then tell the rest of us to get f-ked.

Nonsense. You had two years' of 'mental health' time off. Back to work.

yeah, I think some colleges give it too, like during mid terms coming up, if woke goes down, some may need safe place day off, or Beto loses, some maybe depressed. 2024 it might even be two weeks....

I think the most we can hope for is official permission to use sick days for mental health. If they're truly serious about mental health being as essential as physical health, they'll trust us to continue to manage it as we already do.

I take mental health days by calling in sick occasionally on a Wed and Thur of my Friday off. That way I get five days for a vacation. I can fly to NYC, Santa Fe, Aspen, Vancouver, etc Tuesday night and return Sunday.

Nope. We had “Care Day” last year and management scoffed at the idea of people taking a half-day. No way in he-l do they support the idea of a week off.

Absolutely needed after all that management has put us through with the transformation. Won't happen though for us. It would be great for management to give extra vacation time to appreciate their employees.
