I am thinking that as long as everything that is posted and poses as truth is truth then no one need worry.

You’re viewing this the wrong way. This is not an action concerning Chevron Corp.

I am posting the same thing here from the post with the same title.

I am not a Chevron employee. I am an attorney in California.

As noted by others, the bar is extremely high in proving defamation and libel.

You have to ask yourself, are post on this site taken seriously? Have any of these post produced harm in any manner?

These are sensitive subjects. If the answer is yes, you must clearly outline those damages. By doing so, you give power to this site. You have to show why you would pick one post over any other? Why now? Why did you let all of those other post go without any repercussions? How would you handle a post before and after another post that agrees or disagrees?

The complexities are tremendous in filing a complaint on these subjects. I have read through about 50 of these post and none would rise to a major corporation's bar to put resources around.

What if a post is from someone that took a package stating they will not seek legal action against Chevron? If the company seeks legal action against that individual, that unwinds the contract and now that individual can then seek legal action on things such as discrimination.

This is a fun exercise. You have to ask yourself, why have so few companies sued over post such as the ones on this site. The answer is simple, it creates a pathway that can generate more negative press for a company and it allows things such as discrimination etc. to be introduced as to why someone would post things on here. You don't want to start subpoenaing retirees and active employees. I can assure you, the scope will increase and a slim attorney will always go for a motion in limine.

Also, jurisdictional issues is another can of worms you can research on your own.

I have tried to write this in the most basic way for people to understand.

OP I am confused at what you are trying to say. You have a team of people doing what? For what reason? Are you trying to get people to stop posting about the company? Are you trying to get people to stop posting names?

Why can’t I work with people who would get “sir this is a Wendy’s” jokes? Everybody I work with… they’re just duds.
