Is this the Nike “culture” our senior leaders said we would return to?It sucks

As an always offsite employee that meets with Corporate on a regular basis, all of you back in the office in Oregon with Conference Room meetings went as expected. Collaboration on campus might be “good” for Campus employees but horrible communication is back for every other building in the world. I was super frustrated as 10 minutes of each one of my meetings went back to technical issues, a polycom used because of the echoing, and people talking on the sidelines. Didn’t even know who was in the room so you waste another 5 minutes to see who has entered the meeting room. It was talking into space again with . Lower participation in meetings because of not being able to hear and lack of focus from people from all the room antics.
Many of us have been dreading going back to this communication style with Corporate and now that’s it’s back, it’s worse than ever! It’s worse because we know how much better it can be!
It’s a worldwide company, not an Oregon company!
For a $40B company, this is some pretty basic bi--h sh-t
Did the VP or Director come out of their office and make someone recite the Maxims? Did that have to do pushups when they couldnt? Nike is more a cult than a job. I certainly dont miss the folks on campus :D
I kind of thought the crowning moment was when someone recently shared pictures of the space inside one of the buildings. Showing all the plebes crowded together mere feet from each other, sharing whatever germs and illnesses they may bring in with them. The the coup de grace was lovely picture of the director's spacious office just for themselves, with a freaking DOOR!
But it's all about collaboration, right?
Anytime someone uses the words “collaboration” or “culture” that’s the surest sign smoke is being blown up your azz. It’s a job for christs sake. We aren’t saving the world.
