Thread regarding Citigroup Inc. / Citibank / Citi layoffs

Penalty for loyalty.

According to CNBC those that leave their current jobs for another get at least a 7% increase in pay as a minimum vs. those that stay. Given this, it may be time to leave.

Citi should give their people a retention raise. Why continue to punish your tenured staff for being loyal. If you are hiring new staff at a higher salary than your tenured staff then it should be obvious that your peoples wages are behind the salary curve. Stop punishing them for being loyal and give them all a raise.

If the company won’t respect you by paying you what you’re worth, then respect yourself by leaving for a better opportunity elsewhere.

Just to show you how st*pid they are, there are times a Citi counter offer is less than half of what is being offered elsewhere. If you can’t even match what is being offered elsewhere, why would you even entertain the thought of presenting less.

Do they really think the person on the way out is going to say “you know what, I know that Citi is only counter offering less than half of what the competition is but gosh darn it, I love working here”.

It’s a page straight from the ivory tower.

All the reason I left and am glad I did.

It makes no sense how they let knowledge walk out of the door because they don’t want to pay them market value and hire someone with less experience and knowledge and a much longer ramp up for more money.

I left Citi because of the work overload. I will be taking a step down for the same as what I was making before. I encourage all to, at least look for new opportunities. Maybe it's not to look for more money...maybe it's to look for a better life, more free time and less stress.

Citi can’t afford to. They spend too much money on fines and\or lost law suits.
