Thread regarding VMware layoffs

Everyone just needs to relax.

No one knows for sure what's going to happen, or who, or what is getting the axe!

Remember this, your work colleges are not your friends they are acquaintances, and everyone has their own angle and agendas.

You will be fine, all will be okay. You will not find the answers you really require HERE.

THINK! About you, yourself, and I. Don't belittle others in the process of selling yourself.

You got yourself into this place of work. You can get yourself to the next place if needs be.

If you read the news your misinformed, if you don't read the news, your uninformed, but what difference does it make, the show goes on.

Remember, there is no 'us' only 'you'.

I disagree. I think the better reproach is to accept reality. Most of us are going to lose our jobs. That is what's going to happen. The sooner that people accept that reality the easier it'll be to move on.

As far as my coworkers? I've been working with some of these people off and on for years. Some of them are in fact very close friends I see outside the office. And I will continue to do so after the acquisition is done and I am no longer at VMware.

Perhaps this is an opportunity to reevaluate career paths and whether or not remaining in the tech industry, which seems to be going down a trajectory that resembles the type of destructive capitalist behavior of the likes of general electric and Jack Welch is worth it.

Life goes on, things change, and hopefully for most that will be outside Hock Tan’s depressing company and without major life disruptions. There will be some who don’t come out of this for the better. Anything is possible, the good and the bad.

Being informed is a natural response, so thanks to the Broadcom people posting here to inform us while the process of acquisition goes through.
