Thread regarding Optum layoffs

Whom are you punishing by doing the bare minimum?

I have seen more than a few comments on other threads saying "do the bare minimum" ..
Why? What is the goal with that? Who are you punishing?

These are great questions. OP @4pkg+1h1SGVaJ I have a colleague who does the bare minimum and guess what? He thus actually punishes me, because I have to take over his mess. Optum doesn't care.

In the gigantic mistake, only look out for yourself. They do not care about you. And they don't care that they don't care. You are tool to be abused and used like a MSM "news" paper. Period. Repeat: They do NOT care about you. It was and is forever be all about profiteering and propaganda the sheeple.

I think what they mean by do the bare minimum is do not go an extra mile for a company that does not give a sh-t about you. IE dont miss out on your life for a job that they could cut at any moment, even if you are one of the best employees they have.

Do the bare minimum. Micromanagement (META) will ki-l you to the micro -second on anything you do… Not to mention how quickly you move your mouse in computer screen and how long you it takes to receive another keystroke. The more work you put in, META will move your minimum thresholds to the point of impossible numbers to be obtained daily. I’m glad I’m out of this hellhole.

The amount of American cognitive dissonance was and is oustanding-but predictable given the huge amounts of MSM propaganda and brainwashing.

@2cql+1h63RAuv Exactly. The sooner you realize you're just a number on a spreadsheet and nothing more, the better your work/life balance will be.

Hate working for companies that insist that you socialize with your coworkers all the time including off hours. To me, just going to work and interacting with people when you’re required to is exhausting enough. But to have to give up your own time to continue socializing with them gets to be too much. Companies nowadays are making a big thing of being of the trendy inclusive and diverse thing. Well, how about being woke joke, inclusive and diverse by acknowledging introverts and leaving us the heck alone when we’re off the clock. And yes, do the bare minimum because you will not be rewarded ($) for it. Greasy pizza and 2$ elementary school style "certificates" don't count.

It is not so much as punishing but I guess your manager and or the department / org as a whole. Really its about doing just enough to get the meager raise and bonus because it doesn't matter if you go above and beyond and destroy your work / life balance in the process, you will not get anything substantial. A pat on the back if anything. Yes your teammates could be hurt but that is on them to do more, call you out, and or quit themselves.

Yes!!!! This is my teammate!!! Constantly waiting for their slow a-s bare minimum I am not paid to excel mentality to finish their part of the projects. If you don't include them, then they whine to the boss they are being excluded. Well, get your a-s moving and you will be included more. Other stall techniques in their bag of tricks, purposefully making mistakes to drag the work out. Claim the information they are given isn't clear enough so they can have meetings or just wait for more info. All this adds up to give the impression they are mentally slow. They also complain about the pay, other teammates not doing work (which is so ironic), the boss, the company. I wish I would come to work and nothing would be left of them but a slug trail and some crumbs....

High quality pay? You must be thinking you work somewhere else if that is your reasoning. This company is a resume builder not a life long commitment. Get in, learn the skills, move on. While your here, do your best so you get great referrals and if needed, come back while you figure out your next move. I would never plan a career here, too many layoffs, to many changes and reorgs, raises each year don't keep up with inflation.

It's not about punishment. It's about doing the level of work I'm paid for. Want me to do "high quality" work? Give me "high quality" pay and benefits.

Yes, do the bare minimum. We are not owners, partners, shareholders, board members, etc.etc.. Not working our rears off so the execs and c suites can get another holiday lake house
