I had been interviewing the last couple of weeks and received an offer just this week, was during the negotiations phase with them around compensation and had it rescinded today, they stated they were freezing hiring and reevaluating their workforce

Why would you want to work for Meta/FB in the first place? You clearly have no ethics or morals... as facebook and Meta demand you check them at the door to work for them.
Really, you should be happy they did not hire you!

This is indeed one of the risks of negotiating. Sometimes it goes your way, and sometimes someone decides it's just not worth the trouble right now. (Particularly if the position was merely a 'nice to have' and not an absolute, dire need at the time)
