Massive layoffs at Q while asking for more H1Bs

https://dailycaller.com/2015/07/29/qualcomm-lays-off-4500-workers-while-demanding-more-h-1bs/

Qualcomm has a habit of laying offs a massive amount of people and at the same time asking for more H1Bs to lower cost! Is another round of massive layoffs coming as Qualcomm has asked for more H1Bs next year?? Any thoughts???

When Qualcomm goes into cost cutting mode they always ask for more H1Bs and at the same time fire native born workers….. what else would you call this? All you need to do is a little research to verify my statements…..

H1b workers aren’t cheap labor considering there are set pay bands within the company based upon the job and there is an immigration requirement to meet the minimal prevailing wage as set by the US government. Additionally, new grad salaries are hovering in the $100k+ range depending upon degree.

Hence the word history or pattern… please look at new Qualcomms H1Bs in 2018…. Or throughout the years…. Not a very bright post for the last person… has to be the cheap labor that Q keeps being in!

H1B abuse in the Tech industry is a problem in all of the big companies. The Department of Justice recently fined Facebook for posting false jobs ads in newspapers so that they could submit for H1B workers. The Qualcomm article is from a few years back, but there is a fix for this type of abuse. Rep. Jim Banks introduced the American Tech Workforce Act in the house in December to raise the wage floor from $60k (set in mid 90's) to an adjusted wage floor of $110k. This would also cut off the college pipeline by eliminating OPT. https://indiawest.com/new-american-tech-workforce-act-proposes-elimination-of-opt-tougher-h-1b-visa-regulations/ . Please support this bill.
