The company is well known for screwing with large numbers of people, be it veterans or be it people poisoned with PFAS both in the US and outside. How can a multi billion dollar conglomerate sc--w over so many people and still be in operation, in a country that embodies freedom? If these criminals survive the lawsuits, it would price might is right.

Feel the company might use coercion in this case against law firms and veterans. This is an issue where the US government should step in and bring out the procurement paperwork and make an argument about faulty quality control.
Else the veterans will be lowballed. Individual law firms and veterans won’t have a chance but the government can easily impose sanctions on these criminals making it extremely tough to carry out business in US soil or elsewhere.
There must be some provision for the government to check the quality of the purchased goods, in this case earplugs.
If the quality doesn’t match, can the government itself not sue the manufacturer? The lawyers of the veterans can only take things so far, the government can take it way beyond that.
Realistically, the company will probably split, one small part will take the blame, the part would be liquidated and an offer would be distributed amongst 300000 veterans giving each a much smaller settlement value at best. That is way lesser than what the veterans deserve!
The government should take responsibility of this case and see if any strategy is being played by the company. If a bankruptcy tort is used, all the spin-offs should come under investigations and not just one small part.
The country is US, it stands for freedom.
3m doesn’t embody anything, it is a pile of sh-t, layered with some more sh-t, covered with a ton of ba----dry.
Embodies what?
Minnesota Mining and Manufacturing.
It never made sense.
It embodies nothing.
