Most of the managers here have terribly bad managerial skills. The biggest mistake is that they approach everyone the same, they manage by fear. It is interesting to me that they still haven't realized that they will achieve better results by inspiring their employees instead of putting pressure on them. Perhaps they need training, if nothing else for the reason that their behavior will drive away the best employees and cause damage to the company?

This is an ongoing issue across the whole group. The culture from the top is a key driver behind this without doubt.
My experience has been that most managers have never taken any initiative to become better. Not all, but most.
For instance, do you think your manager has bought (and read) a book on leadership, or on managing people?
For far too many of us, that answer is no. Too many managers just take whatever trainings the corporation forces them to take internally, and that's that.
