Thread regarding T-Mobile layoffs

Important T Mobile Promises Broken

I watched the hearings where T Mobile told the senators in the hearings that there will be plenty of jobs for those joining from Sprint. He was very convincing, even with every difficult question that was asked of him. Now, my son, who has been with Sprint for several years and now with T Mobile, is being laid off, even though he stuck it out when the changes went through. What happens now to all of those who are laid off, those who are facing increased prices, increased rents, increased interest, increased gas prices....where does T Mobile stand now? Broken promises to those employees who stayed the course.

Always read the fine print. You'll notice that they never mentioned where those jobs would be located or what exactly they would be. Your hopes and dreams former Sprint folks were for sale. Tmo didn't want Sprint for sale, marketing, technology,or business practices (we all could see it was circling the drain) just for the Spectrum it couldn't make any good use of.

As was said in another post, the marketing layoffs have been postponed until August. Why ? Because if you go On LinkedIn, you'll see a number of the marketing vp's down in Los Angeles doing interviews with baseball players. Then after a tough 3 weeks of drinking and sitting on their backside, they'll come back and lay off 3/4 of the marketing team

The world is run by the corrupt. Some get caught but not enough. T mobile is full of lying opportunists. Every time he speaks I feel like my wallet is stolen. Look here but not over here. But looking at the CEO landscape, it seems all the same. Just look at atnt or verizon. Crooks

There was no severance for the un-vaxxed.
COBRA for family plan is over $1600 per month.
That's the T-Mobile values in action for you.

I can't imagine anyone, anyone from Legacy Sprint didn't realize "more jobs" was a lie. After the last several years at Sprint? Round after round after round? Not possible that anyone would have thought anything other than it was a LIE. The merger agreement even included details ie "if laid off before 18 months post merger date Sprint severance package, after 18 months TMO severance package". BEFORE OR AFTER 18 MONTHS.....get it? Always the plan.

For the Legacy TMobile folks, I am sorry in this respect, I remember the pure shock when layoffs started at Sprint. After a good run of good times, it was jarring. I can tell from many of the posts that perhaps several people are grieving. Not being mean, it's real. Shocking to realize they aren't that into anyone but shareholders (not employee/shareholders).

Companies like TMobile (and Sprint for that matter), work hard at getting employees to fall in love, buy in, take their foot of the gas (ie future bonus potential) and coast. But they don't. Isn't it interesting, they prefer that employees don't think of them as just an employer but as family; safe, part of a community! They pretend to think of employees that way...until they don't. And here we are.

Employment is transactional. When it's all said and done, employers don't promise anyone anything. In the current case of TMobile, they don't even think enough of their employees ("magenta fam") to communicate what is currently happening. Not a word. Never knew you. There is something disgraceful about that.

The former Sprint execs learned a very hard lesson: layoffs under the cover of darkness? The impact to the REMAINING employees cannot be quantified. Trust is done. The irony is that those who leave often are better off. Many who remain never stop wondering....when is it my turn? Eventually, communication at Sprint became more transparent....but by then, it was too late. The masses had checked out, collecting a check.

I just encourage everyone, DO WHAT IS BEST FOR YOU. They will. They do.

Voluntary in a heartbeat? Ditto. Involuntary...won't be shocked. Either way, severance will pay for Cobra and a nice break. Take care.

Notify the department of justice. File a complaint/ notice, etc that you think they are violating the merger approval terms.
Call your Senator and let them know what's going on.
Call your state's attorney general, especially if they were opposed to the merger. Many were.
Contact the CEO and see if you can speak with him directly or exchange emails.
Try to make T-Mobile go on record.
