Thread regarding Optum layoffs

If there are layoffs, they'll lose more of us than they planned

How many people will walk out if they're expected to take over even more work from those who were let go? I know I'm going to be among them. As somebody else said, they want robots, not employees. They don't seem to realize how quickly that approach can backfire and leave them without enough people to do any of the work.

All those ratings for profit companies are jokes. 4 and 5 star ratings for chain restos, and corporatons etc...all a bad joke. Most usians have a lot of trouble with critical thinking-explains a lot bros

Most need these jobs. They/re heavy in debt, have loans, etc. They can't just leave. They're slaves-modern day styles. Debt is a "great" control on the masses

I've been working there for 20 years, but trust me guys, it pays off. After my 20th year, I received a $0.40 pay raise, and every year since it goes up around $0.12! The US privatized health company really respects me too, when my spouse died last year, they approved me (after many American forms and documents) to take a half day off for the funeral, and let me make up the half day whenever I wanted to later that week.

Hang in there guys with those endless layoffs, just put in that time and you'll make it like me. Also-Just watch lotsa sports bal and watch pieces of leather go into nets. It helps with the US "life"

Maybe check your employment agreement and see what the pension/severance payouts are and employee rights are as required by the government. Ooops, this was - is the US empire

How does one actually leave that place? Are they seen as defectors or are black listed at other dumps?

Agree why wait.?. I hear all of the time “ Optum pays more than the average” Bull$hit they don’t actually they pay average. Left a month ago for a 50k increase for the same role. Also, less stress as SGS is a sinking ship. Yes, the stock price is high and your Retirement depends on that. But if you can rake in more money with less stress and Security - how do you go wrong….

Why would you wait to be laid off? There are lots of jobs in this economy, and the vast majority of them are better than working for Optum.

Cut your losses early.
