Thread regarding U.S. Bank layoffs

Everyone here should email Anne.Walker@Ethisphere.com to let her know about ethics regarding employees at U.S. Bank.

For the eighth consecutive year, U.S. Bank has been named one of the World’s Most Ethical Companies by the Ethisphere Institute, a global leader in defining and advancing the standards of ethical business practices.

“Our employees have gone above and beyond to support our communities and customers.” said Andy Cecere, chairman, president and chief executive officer. “They work hard to earn and keep our customers’ trust, and this honor belongs to them.”

Ethisphere recognized 136 honorees that span 22 countries and 45 industries. U.S. Bank is one of five honorees in the banking category.

"Acting with integrity is who we are as a company," said Katie Lawler, global chief ethics officer. "Our commitment to the communities we serve and the care our employees show for each other inspires me."

WTF? Is this your experience? It sure wasn't mine! I was severed in October 2020 after 23 years of service. After 5 reassignments over the years and only OTJ training, I had 15 minutes to notify my own manager and clear any personal stuff from my laptop. I worked in TOS and seldom got to take courses for certifications. I didn't even know how much I actually knew because everything I did was learned on the job. I never had time or energy to take advantage of on-line training and when I joined the Development Network my managers put up with it rather than credit me with initiative. No matter what I did, it was never good enough. When they eliminated my position, I was in shock. I'm still bitter but I'm finally feeling better. I could not face a job search and am grateful to have been 60 years old when it happened. My retirement life is financially smaller than I'd hoped but at least I'm out from under that constant stress.

Davis started as a teller and worked his way up. He didn't think of people as "resources," but Cecere is from the Jack Welch (G.E.) school of management and he has never cared about the feudal slaves more than to pay lip service to them when it suits his purpose to do so. He is literally taking U.S. Bank down the way Welch did to G.E.

Current and former employees need to let those who give out awards like Anne.Walker@Ethosphere how U.S. Bank treats workers so they stop making the place look like a good place to work!
