Thread regarding JPMorgan Chase & Co. layoffs

Company culture at JPM changes you

I found myself having to do and say things I would have never done or said before for trying to fit in with the right people. If I don't, I know I'll end up stuck with no chance of career advancement. But when I do it, I realize I'm becoming somebody I'm not, the toxic kind of person this bank is filled with. Sadly, it's either adjust or leave, and I can't afford to leave right now.

i left after 20+ years not too long ago and i couldn’t be happier. the grass on the other side for me is green: my new employer puts employees first, invests in continual leadership training and people are genuinely friendly from the CEO right down to housekeeping. looking back at my career with chase i don’t know why i didn’t leave sooner. i now see how toxic and abusive my LOB was and how favoritism was very real, even if you were a high performer, especially if you didn’t kiss badonk, one person didn’t like you or if you had a voice and called people out on their s—t when you knew it was not the right thing to do. also i know money isn’t everything, but at least my new employer recognizes my talent and pays me for my knowledge and skills. they took a chance on me as an outsider instead of someone internal to start up a new project. chase destroyed me emotionally, and i’m absolutely on the road to recovery.

I have been with Chase over 20 years. Sadly it is not the same company it used to be. The wokeness is ki----g it. Especially since it is all just pandering, top brass doesn’t mean it. I can.’t wait to get out

I noticed that under a new top manager and a decreasing bonus pool, my coworkers (back back office) are literally turning into animals: condescending tone, information retention, backstabbing, fingerpointing, a-s kissing became so pervasive it's disgusting. Some are loosing their dignity.
I personally took a risk and left. While I realize that the pastures are no greener on other side and now I have to work much more (although my paycheck is much more enticing as well), but staying in the company that promotes humiliation and abuse of people and takes toxicity to the whole new level is just a waste of my life.

I mean that’s how I have to do it. Laugh at my manager’s lame jokes and participate in my team’s cringed conversation. To be honest, I don’t give a damn about any of them or what they have to say but it’s a mask you just have to put on if you wanna advance here, sadly

Congrats, you are working for a criminal organization that makes the 1930s Chicago mafia look like saints. That scummy feeling you have at work is what many low level mafiosi feel everyday when whacking a guy, collecting for a Shylock or breaking a guys legs.
