yes they can reject it. especially if you put it in weeks ahead of time and its on a key date .
always use pto if your gonna give then a few weeks or months notice, that way its legit approved. if you need it but its rejected then blindside them with the ppto with as little notice as possible. always put in the ppto and wait a minute or 2 then report an absence.
i get no points that way. points if you call out first then ppto.

What people do not realize is if you put PPTO in advance, it is not automatically approved. The day you call out, you can submit PPTO and it be automatically approved as long as you have the hours to cover it. If you do not, you will still get anywhere from one half to one point, the the remainder of your PPTO request will be deducted from your PTO if you have hours available as the program looks at this as a request for pay.

Ppto sick gets approved automatically. If u chose another option they can reject it. So it’s best to just call of sick instead of giving notice if your manager is a A-s Ho-e.
