Thread regarding JPMorgan Chase & Co. layoffs

Transferring to credit card

It seems for now not layoff they just moving people to credit card and no option to transfer after a year. And not severance package either.

I just wish we had a choice to take severance or the move to credit card. We got shafted with the move to credit card. This is no way the same level of job as a ccs. Handling 80-100 inbound calls a day?!? Ki-l me now

Do they do layoffs for each center separately? I would love to keep my job and don’t want to be moved. But I would rather move to another department than get laid off. It’s harder to find the pay you need when your on unemployment. Been there, done that, don’t want to go through that again.

Layoffs are supposedly happening next Wednesday, June 22nd for HLAs and other Home Lending jobs such as closing/CCS. The SHOC lease was up so they used that opportunity to shift some people around in the new building.

There were 220 people on the town hall that were advised they were being transferred. If you werent on the call, you are going to remain in your position. The information given on the call was very vague.

I can't believe the English in these posts. You should have never been hired to begin with, but should be fired immediately.

Why would you expect to get severance if they transferred you to another department? You still have a job.

when credit card was 'shut down/laid off' in 2019 in columbus there was an option to apply internally into other departments. if you didn't get hired into another department you automatically were placed into retail customer claims (debit card, checks, etc.). no severance was offered, easy out for the bank. also super crummy for people that worked cards forever. several people quit after 15+ years of service because of options given and claims not being a good fit for them after training. i also heard rumors some of those people with low performance in card were eventually managed out of claims.

Did they tell you what exactly you would be doing in credit card, like work wise??

Yup, I'm quitting. I only held out for severance. The way they made things seem around here, layoffs were inevitable... they didn't talk about layoffs at all.
