Oh no, Bronco again. Fix it CarCar or move on. No one accountable, ever.

Ford Motor Company is recalling select 2021-2022 Ford Bronco models over malfunctioning child safety locks.

The defect: in affected vehicles, the passenger-side rear door may be opened from inside of the vehicle when the child safety lock is in the “on” position.

The hazards: a malfunctioning child safety lock increases the risk of injury to a child occupant.

Ford is not aware of any accidents or injuries related to this issue.

Components: passenger-side child safety lock

Affected vehicles: select 2021-2022 Ford Bronco models produced at the Michigan Assembly plant from September 23rd, 2020 to April 11th, 2022.

Number of vehicles affected: 53,103

The fix: dealers will inspect the passenger-side child safety locks door child safety lock and latch, and replace them, if necessary, free of charge.

Does Ford have one vehicle released in the past couple years that doesn't have a recall? Seems like every other day something new has messed up on a vehicle line. It's embarrassing, especially given the cost of cars right now.

JF has to hurry to safe Quality. Normally though, there are already a number of safeguards in place to catch these issues early. I'm sure Bronco doors come apart easily to replace these items.
