Ever since Fiserv laid off a colleague who was a great performer and talent, I’ve been getting less done in eight hours than I used to get done in twice as little time. I see no sense in putting in effort anymore. Have you noticed how some who barely do anything, successfully avoid ever being cut?

The person who decides who gets laid off values blind loyalty over value to the company.
Sucking up is the other problem. I see a lot of them around
Kudos for putting in effort but do NOT put in more than asked for and do not do anything for free. 40 hours per week - and enjoy life after that. Look for a new job and it is out there for you. If you have train replacements, train then bad. If you work in IT, put a dead fish in the hot server room. But get out of this now toxic environment. It can and will affect your health.
