Thread regarding Optum layoffs

Is it worth waiting for severance?

I’ve been looking for a way to get out of here for a long time and now I’ve got an offer, which however isn’t much better than what I have here. Perhaps some of the benefits are only slightly better. I am in a dilemma whether it's better to accept such an offer or wait for layoffs and severance pay here?

Your life is too short to waste on that place. Start living. Get out of those pjs and take a walk on the beach, in the forest, in the woods. smell the air, the sunshine instead of a cubicle, flourscent corporate lighting and lame boomer meetings. start living

If you're looking for a quick way to get laid off go complain to HR about one of the incompetents in leadership positions

Maybe check your employment agreement and see what severance and pension is offered?

There were so many teammates that drank the coolaid. They believed in the nonsense wall awards, clapping, wearing the company merchandise/wind breakers (losers). Now, reality comes like ice cold water to the genitals. Reality is that which exists even after you stop believing it.

We all need to try real hard to express our commitment and loyalty to the corporation. They are the reason we can pay our bills and rent. We need to express our gratitude to them. Our overlords and masters need extreme deference. Thank you MSM "news"

Take the new job but if it doesn't feel right keep looking in the meantime. You have to look out for yourself. I'd never wait to be fired unless you're certain it's a week or two away.

They do whatever they can to avoid paying severance. They have even used bad reviews to fires people so they don’t have to pay severance. In light of the fact that they have been convicted of fraud by the Feds more now then ever they will do What ever they can to save mo eh to cover the 15+ billion they must pay in damages.

Just take the new job, half a-s your job here until you get laid off or fired. Severance and double income for a while. I know of two in my department who are doing that now and have been for months.
