There were no resource reduction news this month. Only a bunch of rumors.

Reorganization = Busy Work for Management. How many times have there been reorgs? They have gone one way then turn around and go back to the way it was before many times.
@OP It's only a reprieve. Working at Ford is like being on death row. Eventually they will come for you.
So you need to ready for when they do and implement your back-up plan. Or implement your escape plan sooner than later.
Don’t blame the clowns for being clowns; but do question why you keep attending the circus.
Jim Farley's admiration for Elon Musk reminds me of Jac Nasser's adoration of GE's "Neutron Jack" Welch and Nasser's adoption of Welch-style salaried personnel policies at Ford.
Farley worships Elon.
Elon is known for treating his workforce like garbage.
Farley is just following his muse.
Where there's smoke there's fire .
No resource reduction? Lol
Already a smaller layoff.
Now purchased Service contracts not being renewed.
Very few backfilling of attrition.
The big one is still coming.
Agree with those below. There is constant churn and it is a negative experience. Bad plans are continuously communicated badly or not at all. Was hoping that all reorgs will do something but they are apparently designed to create chaos not efficiency. Saw all of that first hand before I retired and lost a lot of respect for the new Ford that constantly threatened: A. you may be too old B. you may be the wrong 'fit' for our new vision C. you might be safe from the next chop, or not. D. We will never tell you (haha).
Just saying that one person seems to be writing all the same stuff. I don't know how it helps to post the recall stuff which is available 25 other places. Yes the internal happy talk articles will not tell you the reality, but that is the Ford way.
And then splits the company into three parts
And then has "discussions" with VW
And then restructures the same departments three times over
I mean sure, this is a negative view on things. But folks aren't posting on >The Layoff< because their view is great.
You can consider it normal when all these things happen and the company prefers to be quiet about it, knowing full well they hold all the power over their people.
Naturally, you'll get the talk as a result, people asking what to do and so on. But there seem to be people that "find that too negative" and participate in name calling.
Why would a ceo say that they don’t have the right people and the people they do have can’t fill the positions for the new organizations because they are not qualified. Plain and simple it’s to drive fear in the rank and file. Who does that to their employees??????????
Hello serial original Poster
What is that phrase.... "Throw enough mud and eventually some will stick"? Something like that.
People on this board just keep throwing out dates and pushing back timelines for when these layoffs are supossed to happen. Eventually, it may or may not happen. Like all companies. Why keep putting those bad vibes in the air?
I have heard from Several people they are planning a large scale computer ship off after collecting computers, like they did the last time. They've said from August to November there will be several large scale computer collections and ship backs.
This month ain't over yet. Wouldn't surprise me to hear of people getting tapped out on the last Wednesday.
Unfortunately what I think it means is a large scale reduction coming.
Only lots of hush hush meetings, nda's being signed, etc. Right, no worries. Insert head in sand now.
Its early in the year yet. Give it time
