Any news on Team Leads going slaried? I'm not talking about People Leads.. I've now heard from a pretty reliable source, but looking to see if anyone else has any info?

I was told today by a People Lead that Team Leads are going to do Orientation for their own new associates. Try and find time to do that!!

It’s no secret GWP is being evaluated for improvements. Nothing this complex ever gets implemented flawlessly. They always said they would review GWP and make changes when necessary. GWP has had mixed results, been wildly successful in some stores, marginal in some stores and not so wonderful in other stores. The reasons are varied and numerous. Much of the not so wonderful results can be tracked right back to choices and decisions made by store associates thinking, doing and saying “I think that’s d-mb so I’m not going to do it”.

You might not agree, but many things in GWP make total sense and generally speaking, if it was embraced by all and followed by all so many things would be better. But, too many people let their personal feelings and opinions get in the way of business policy. That’s one of the things that will change. The accountability is going to tighten up. I’d expect to see changes to the people lead position. Specialty roles and responsibilities are being looked at, like optical, pharmacy and TLE. The OGP business is growing fast, and I’d expect to see more emphasis put on pick rate and reducing exceptions and nill picking. Expect to see more focus on shrink, and we need to be better at reducing outs. If we have items on the steel that need to be on shelves, that’s a problem. Yes, expect some changes with GWP. One last thing, if you can’t support GWP or the new changes coming down, try to do something helpful. Go see your store manager and write down the reasons you think it won’t work and give real world examples. Walk him/her through it. Explain what you see in detail. If you just rant like a crazy person, no one will listen. Hope this helps.

what changes in GWP are coming next year?

There’s NO consistency with the way team leads have been selected and vetted. Trust me on this, team leads are not going salary. That would create an even worse situation. The new changes in GWP coming next year will help sort out the differences though.

Team Leads will not go salary. They cut back on salary for that reason! to be exempt. Only Lead going salary is your people lead

I heard from my Coaches cousin who is a maintenance associate at another store that all associates are going salary beginning in 2032.

Posting this for years doesn't make it true. They would have to repost the positions.

I hear Polly W. formerly of Little Rock, now at the Cannes store is still hourly.
About 50K an hour, but not salaried.
