Has anyone heard of the new working concept??
Supposed to be departments handling their own freight-soft side working freight that’s been processed do the , put away, merchandise items, pricing and back-stock all in one concept. Same goes for hard side they would work freight already processed, work put away, merchandise items, pricing and back stock all in one.
This would illuminate replenishment and IC, those jobs would be absorbed to the departments assigned. Receiving would process shipments and do back stock”
I guess this is a real thing that is supposed to be in place the first weeks of July and going forward

That's how it's been since I've worked here.
If a SM doesn’t speak up He/She isn’t working for the Best Interest of the store. That is quite obvious. Store success depends on everyone SM included all the way down to small part timers
If an individual store is failing who is to blame- start from the top and then work your way down
There was a time when a SM could speak up and was listed about concerns at store level. Those days are long gone. Even the DM has very little input when pushing up issues. This is a total top down operation.
We need our SM to push back and stick up for employees and store operations
We need SM to speak up and say this is unacceptable we can not run a store successfully like this
We need SM to stand behind employees to say this is no longer a happy environment
We need SM to state there’s no customer service when there is nobody helping customers
Employees can not stand alone
Try getting all that done in 3 hrs and guess what it’s not working!! You heard me right IT’S NOT WORKING!!
Stockroom is still backed up, receiving still needs conveyances. When you call for back up now there is nobody to help. When you call the departments- oh forget there is no one because they have all gone home or to another job to make up the hrs lost at BBB. Sorry the system does not work with a skeleton crew
Maybe just maybe if you give us our hrs back things will get done in a timely manner.
We have done that for years. Smaller volume store you just automatically accommodate like that. It’s the only way to get stuff done.
At no time does any one say that’s not my freight that’s not my problem.
Most of the pricing gets done by one person though. If not then one of the managers does it.
i remember better times, when you had keyholders, full time department leads, AND part timers to do the simple stuff like putaway. tasks got done, departments looked presentable, customers could find what they wanted...
now the geniuses sitting in their corporate offices want that level of work done with no full timers, a couple of part timers working 4 hour shifts, and keyholders who are too busy helping customers and doing online orders and keyturns every 10 min. to even THINK about freight. thanks MT!
Y'all are still doing hard side/soft side associates? It's been years since we've had that distinction.
Not every store has worked this new way certainly not my store!!
Yes we help out when you are done with your own task. Sometimes you just can’t help not enough hrs
I just don’t see it working in our store. Somedays there is only one hard side senior,SSL then maybe a soft side senior later so first SSL can go to lunch. Not till late afternoon soft side associate and hard side associate come in maybe a few hrs till closing

Here is the problem. Every store has run that way forever. These knuckleheads think they are geniuses by implementing processes that already exist. You can't trust a part timer who could care less responsible for price changes though. That is lunacy
Again, more BS from the top! You in the tower need to come down and show how this works in smaller volume stores ! Stop listening to all the a-s kissers that tell you what you want to hear that's where it starts. And the end of the company keep drinking the Kool aid !
i would love if departments actually started putting away their freight and backstocking, take a little off my load of processing, rtv, and fulfillment
unfortunately my store has me for receiving, keys for the departments, cashiers, and then an extra employee or two, so it won't work here, lol

What store have you been working in? This isn't new. Maybe some stores are run different.
I’m sorry this is new to you!! How long have you been with the company? Since I’ve been with the company (over a decade) this is how it’s been in EVERY store I’ve worked in! It helps keep you up to date on items that come in, helps keep Bopis/SFS can’t fills accurate and keeps the team morale high because everyone is involved. If price changes concern you, split your lists on days when there are a million and delegate them properly. You can’t lead a team if you aren’t part of one!!
Good luck with all the price changes/sales that get dropped on you that aren't planned in work bench prior for planning.
It works. We’ve been doing it for 3 weeks now.
