Thread regarding Allstate Corp. layoffs

I assume the mass layoffs will be on the same schedule as 2020

Allstate likely wants to clean their books like they did in 2020. So they will probably layoff late December and announce the layoffs late October to give the 60 day notice. I also assume they will notify us of the pending layoffs on the same time line as 2020 so around August or September. I haven't spoken to anyone or have no proof. However, that's just what I believe because it would be easier for tax reasons to get it done before 2022 ends like 2020

@2fds+1hlpnH5T We are hiring but not replacing 1 for 1, and I would say desperately because we keep losing good candidates to other insurance companies, you can just not hire anyone, you have to keep some employees so some work continues to be done.

Claims is safe. Talked to a recruiter with Allstate the other day and they’re desperately hiring in auto and property anybody

Hiring freeze is coming soon. No idea if layoffs come with that.

Some areas such as claims have not been told what is coming even at their highest leadership levels as a lot of those roles are in jeopardy too. Hence the job listings still posted and being posted.

You assume wrong. Allstate is currently mass hiring in multiple departments / offering unlimited OT.

The layoffs in 2020 started as early as July in some departments with last days being in September for some areas that were not subject to the fake assessment fiasco. I would anticipate actual first announcements in the next 2-3 weeks.
