Thread regarding U.S. Bank layoffs

Org Chart Change

Someone told me that U.S. Bank made a change to the system to where if someone gets laid off they still show up on the org charts and company directory for a period of time after they are gone. This appears to be true in that people who I know that got laid off weeks ago still show up.

Has anyone else noticed this?

Was this intentional to make it harder for people to figure out what is going on?

First our org charts have NEVER been right! And second, as other have mentioned, some folks who’ve been laid off are being paid for a bit after their final day or work - they’re still on the books. (This is actually a good thing in case you land a job in the “in between” time and they call the automated employment verification line - I think it would say you’re still officially on the books!)

How good are the severance packages being offered?

I think it's just our old wacky tech as I see someone else mentioned . This is the only company I've been at where if I search a former employees name from a year ago they might still pop up (If you search on the intranet rather than right in the directory). Their title / into is gone but their name still floating out there.

Once you are laid off you have a certain amount of time to find a new job within the bank otherwise you lose your tenure. I’d assume they’d wait until that deadline to remove them from the system?

My last day of work is June 30th after which time most access (Outlook, etc.) is lost but will remain “on payroll” through July 21st so perhaps the later date is when people who are cut are removed from the internal directory.

In a pre-layoff meeting, they informed us that it will take until July 3 to make the org chart changes on the system(s).

I doubt it's that orchestrated. Likely just due to cr---y/ wonky systems not being updated or reflecting data accurately (Workday). I've never seen accurately org charts here anyway, often manually updated spreadsheets or databases that are always out of date. I really don't think U.S. Bank would try that hard to cover something that is going to be figured out in a matter of days when the laid off person no longer shows up or emails.
