Thread regarding JPMorgan Chase & Co. layoffs

Are we done with Mortgage layoffs?

Do you think this is it? Or, do you think they (execs/mgmt) will be back at it once they realize that the recession is worse than expected and that nobody is getting mortgage / refi any more? I have exposure to our weekly #s and it's not looking good at all - it's very scary.

What are your thoughts? Are we done with mortgage layoffs?

Non chase worker: title is a good field to get into in that they are working whether it's purchases refis or foreclosures.... good luck to you and sorry about your lay off. It truly comes with the territory.

I don't work at Chase- I was let go from another company. Same reason - lack of volume.
I was only in college when the last recession happened. Can anyone answer for me - how long do you think this recession/low volume will last? I'm looking at where else I might apply (I'm not an LO) - and I'm seeing the same trend everywhere.... layoffs.... I'm thinking yeah, I can apply for other banking positions (again, since I'm not an LO) - but also wondering what other options outside of banking would work with my skillset...

Can you guys offer your thoughts up on this please? Especially those of you that were in mortgage during the last downturn? Thank you & God bless.

Please. This was just the beginning. Non-performing Loan Officers will be next. They will be given 3-6 months and out they go. You think you are the only one that has figured this out? Management has had this planned for months. Get real.
