Although my performance was not bad at all, I somehow had a feeling that I would be cut.
There had been many subtle signs that pointed to this. The manager had completely changed his attitude towards me. Yet still some say that they couldn't have guessed that they would be the target?

You should always have your resume up to date and your head on a swivel for opportunities. Regardless.
