Many of the contractors that were hired and sponsored here from India now have moved way past the existing people in the US. Go from contractor to advisor in less than 2 years. My morale just dropped 10 points

"Sure, Sure... Yes, Yes"
ahahahahahhahahha
You are missing the point. Reality doesn't matter. What does matter is senior management perception. Senior management thinks that those programmers are superior so they get promoted. Actual results are not a consideration in senior management's decision process.
India IT Jive - was being sarcastic. I have worked with several firms such as WiPro and they know NOTHING about this complex issues. And workers in Pune had the highest malware infection rates in the company. Yeah - they are lousy.

That's strange... every experience I've ever had with off-shore contractors has been exactly the opposite of what you describe here. I personally don't know of anyone who shares this particular view.

ROTFLMAO, cough, cough - buwahahahahahahahahaha, cough, choke, lololol, cough, omg
You're kidding, right? I worked with FGS for ten years. Literally nothing, N-O-T-H-I-N-G was coded properly the first time. We always spent 3 times as long QA'ing FGS code since it stunk so bad. We had to let a guy go because we couldn't understand him. They would come in at 10AM India time and leave at 5PM. Two hour lunch breaks. Three-four 'tea' breaks during the day. Something like 20 national holidays a year.
"Can you get this done tomorrow?"
"No, it's Lord Ganesha day"
"Ok, the for letting me know".
Lord Ganesha is an elephant. A f%^&*ng ELEPHANT. Things don't get done because people worship ELEPHANTS.
Gimme a break about your India IT> USA IT jive talk.

Load of cr*p.
Contract workers were sorely treated at Firserv. I spent time for 2 plus years and the promise of going perm was always mentioned ..... and just that. Never happened and my contract sponsor agency was really surprised by that. The pay was also way sub-standard for the role I was performing. Our manager tried to get proper pay - denied. And IT in India is always thought to be far brighter and smarter than the poor American citizens are. Ergo - advance them and I'll bet the pay is still lousy. $89.36 this morning too. If I sound overly critical, I found "Fiserv" itself a wonderful place to work with the exceptions above and this was before the FD invasion began.
