New positions open up on a daily basis which makes no sense if the ultimate goal is to trim the company's workforce as much as possible. What's going to happen to people who decide to leave their current jobs to join? Are they going to be cut as soon as the acquisition is finalized? Then why hire them in the first place?

I joined VMware in May before the announcement of the aquisiton. It has been a horrible experience. All my coworkers are disgruntled (understandable), and my manager's advice is "whatever happens, happens". I am regretful of joining this company and am overall unimpressed. I am searching for work, and reevaluating what I want in a career, because this is not it. Best of luck to everyone.
Sent couple of referrals but none of the candidates got called. Wondering if they are even filling these positions anymore?
I have to help open a rec for someone who just left. For me it's all for show at this point because I have no idea who would want to join
Expect a hiring freeze soon, likely after the Go Shop period expires on July 5.
Managers are clueless. My manager is advertising several openings. Who would take it given this situation?
This is yet another reason why Broadcom is buying VMWare, incompetent management. That is an easy fix.
Anyone coming in to join VMware now needs to get their heads examined. Even the most cursory research would show this will not end well.
