Compensation

Till now I have noticed a lot of people saying compensation in Broadcom is higher than VMware. But are we really sure about it?
From glassdoor, levels.fyi and other sites like this the compensation seems quite comparable at least for software engineering at the same levels (P4vsICB4, P5vsICB5 ecc...) and even if it's a bit higher in Broadcom are we sure we will get an increase or the will just simply downgrade the level?

"Most of those people talk about making money on stock, getting into AVGO at $200 and now they’re $600 or whatever. So for that to apply over the next few years, AVGO would need to triple again. Unlikely…."

that was my thinking before joining Broadcom, too. But Broadcom is very focused keeping it's stock in a growth mode. And they are very good at it.

Full disclosure: I left Broadcom down the road. Your total comp will be nice or great for sure. But you can't expect anything else. So I decided to move on, collected a bit of the RSUs and great pay. Don't regret it. But it was time to move after a while.

Not that AVGO is bad at pay, but the reason those total comp numbers are so high are due to the stock appreciation.

from all my research and talking to current and former broadcom employees, they pay top rate, so a little higher than others, but the biggest bump is RSUs, Bonus/commissions, and dividends on their stock.

I looked at the websites (glassdoor and what not) and out of 6 different people I spoke with ALL said they made more money at broadcom. Some a bit more, some a lot more.

Will you? no one knows until this think shakes out more and you have a broadcom offer in your hand.
