Thread regarding JPMorgan Chase & Co. layoffs

I have my wife to leave because....there is no work life balance there.

They walk all over her. She is covering her desk, plus 4 people who are out sick in addition to assuming some of the responsibilities of 2 people recently let go. The new supervisor keeps telling her can you stay later? Later than the 10 hours she puts in every day? It's bad enough she puts in another 2 hours each night going online to catch up with her email and complete reports she has NO CAPACITY to do during the day and now they are asking her to put in over 50 hours in the office. Where is the work life balance they talk about? I don't see it.

  • The ones purposely short staff due to budget restrictions
  • The ones with new manager that are trying to earn brownie points by taking on more work and new projects with the same staff that was previously strapped and unhappy.
  • The ones management is looking to move offshore and refuses to hire temps/consultants to assist in the transition

I have worked in JP's Middle office, back in 2019-early 2020, and I remember our floor being exactly this busy. Everyone was expected to complete 50 hours in office.
Specially if you weren't at a senior level, you worked that much to get a better pay and faster promotions.

I work in middle office and yes, I have to send emails even at 9 to 10 at night because the volume on what you need to do is just so great that you can only catch up once the dusts have settled
