Thread regarding Bank of America layoffs

B of A to layoff 3000 employees in Brea Service Center?

Has anyone heard yet that at the end of July if B of A will allow us to continue to work from home or will they be laying off most of the 3000 employees in the Brea Service Center

Thought I heard a while back the big brea site was getting shut down, they love putting new roles on AZ, shittier worker rights there

Possible but VERY UNLIKELY.
It'd be a massive layoff and we'd know about it by now.
They (management) cannot hide such a big layoff, so it would leak.
I think this will never happen and who would do the work?

Smh… have you people not noticed all the reqs that went up in phoenix. People are relocating there with offers may not happen in July but will happen soon enough

This is just a rumor, a weak one.

On the question of the WARN notice - yes, we'd have to file with the State if we wanted to lay off 3K. There are some ways around it but it'd be very hard and pointless.

This is not going to happen guys. Go enjoy your holiday.

No.
The amount of work done there is immense.
Who would do the work?

My understanding of Federal Law 60 days notice or 60 days severance pay but I don't live in California so state law may be different.

It will require a WARN

I think if the bank makes a move of that magnitude, especially since it’s concentrated in one geographic area, they have to give advanced notice (externally).
