I did a little research on compensation strategy in competing organizations and now I feel more underpaid than ever. I think uncompetitive pay is the top reason why employees leave here.
Isn't it too much of a risk to choose compensation strategy that lags the marketplace?

Comp is a big driver, but the primary reason people leave here is that their cr---y bureaucratic manager who is more concerned about covering their own a$$ and keeping their cr---y executive from having another tantrum.
People do not feel appreciated or valued, and that shows in the pay.
