Thread regarding Micro Focus layoffs

Is anyone not considering the option to leave?

I know we always had our share of attrition but lately it’s been crazy. Literally all of the people in my team are talking about leaving the company and a vast majority of them are hitting the job market hard. If 50% of those people leave my team will not be able to operate. Seems like only the newly hired youngsters are not considering this option.

For those MF'ers still there - please consider how you communicate with HR "Business Partners" VERY CAREFULLY. From personal experience they exist as a spy lens for your mgmt. and will quickly turn on you once it is opportune to do so.

Get out and good luck. Used to be a decent place but the toxic layer of middle management has truly run key talent and capable people out a long time ago.

That is window dressing. Sure they prefer to see people go without any sort of financial compensation. Wrong attitude and clearly wrong people still allowed to steer the little vessle.

I think some are waiting/hoping for a potential severance pay out before moving on and/or the right opportunity.

Though MF would prefer attrition to paying out severance I think, see below:

"So I suspect we'll see an element of moderation now in the market, but we do have highly talented people and we are often targeted to get those people into other companies. We're also an attractive place to work and we hired almost 1,000 people in the last seven or eight [Technical Difficulty] well since we closed the year, it's about 1,000 people. So it's a hotspot to watch out, but I do think it will moderate from here. And it's actually been helpful in some areas of our business you've seen that play through in our exceptional spend being down, because we've managed to redeploy people to openings and we've managed to exit people without severance costs. So, puts and takes, I would say Will."

We took someone from here about a month ago. There are better companies out there!

Many people on my team have already left. I am considering it, too. RUN!

The writing is on the wall I guess. With that massive cost burden the investments made into employees will be close to zero. Are they offering severance packages? If this would be the case, the attrition will rise. The market noticed the company issues already and to be a former MF employee looking for a new job might limit your options to progress.
